Yes those affiliate links are there. I did pay for my order myself though and that is what I was referring too.

As far as touting these steaks to make money, I've made $50 so far. Its not like anyone's getting rich or enough to even pay for my server. However, my wife and I talked about it before your post even and we are donating all Omaha Steak's affiliate earnings to buy a goat for a family via Heifer. If we don't sell enough to pay for a goat, we will probably gift a set of chicks and ducks. Ideally would like to gift a few goats, so the more anyone buys, the more animals we will be gifting.

Like I said $50 this month and its the best month of the year. I don't make much from this Mark so take it easy.

I'll say this I never received anything in the mail. I did get a few phone calls where I asked them to remove me from their list. I haven't received anything other than email specials.

This review is completely 100% honest of my experience with Omaha Steaks. Is it the best steak I've ever eaten in my life? No. I've eaten at The Palm, Capital Grille, Morton's, Prime 112. Its nowhere near that. However, it was better than 90% of the store bought steaks I've gotten at the grocery store or at any BJs or Costco. I've bought a lot of meat at those two price clubs in my years.

I should probably do an updated review of the product since its been awhile.

The title of the review has the word "honest" in it. It states the writer was not paid for the review. But why are there buttons to click to order from Omaha? Why doesn't the review mention the annoying marketing that follows the first purchase, as mentioned by another reviewer. I guess I'm doubting the appropriate use of the word "honest" in the title.

I bought the steaks as a gift for my 88 year old father. He liked them. BUT.... FOLKS GET READY FOR A FLOOD OF MARKETING FOLLOWUP. We have gotten call after call by the Omaha steaks marketing folks bugging us to buy some more of their products. After our repeated requests for them to stop, the schumcks making the calls just keep on talking and say "our number was on the list" and still they keep calling... SO BOYS AND GIRLS, IF LOVE GETTING PHONE CALLS FROM OMAHA STEAKS, go ahead and order some. I have learned my lesson. No more dealings with these guys.

In response to "what trimming?" the filets come without the outside connective tissue removed. If you cook them like this, then the outside bites are chewy. When I buy filet whole at Sams, I trim, trim, trim. About 20% becomes chunks for shish kebob, 20% becomes waste, and the remaining 60% is steak.

A final addendum. A little web research and confirmation from the web site shows they do not list a USDA grade. No "prime", no "choice". They call some of their steaks "premium"....which carries no real meaning.

On another site, a poster suggested they were buying select meat and cutting it up and repackaging the meat. I think this may be true.

If you go on other company's sites they say prime or dry aged prime.
