A couple of days ago I posted about changing my family’s eating habits. We’ve been eating clean and living lean and the food has been totally enjoyable and satisfying. I’m not a big breakfast eater first thing in the morning. I love breakfast food, but like so many others, I have a hard time actually eating it at breakfast time. I know it’s important

Most people automatically think instant heart attack when they think of fast food. Not to say it’s good for you, but it’s not always the worst option in the world when you are on the go and don’t have many other choices. The husband and I have been following a lo-carb diet for a month or so and have been mostly eating at home.

I tried doing the South Beach Diet last week and by Friday night I bailed. I had a fun, splurgey weekend and thought I’d try again this morning. No such luck. I love my fruits, whole grains, cereal, and snacks way too much. I did, however, make a great dinner menu for the week and still plan on following it. I know that I

This week my goal is to double up on at least three of my meals and freeze half of each one, in preparation for my new baby. I don’t want to have to worry about feeding the rest of my family those first couple of weeks. It’s definitely a bit hot here for such warm, hearty meals, but hey – we have air conditioning

Just made my meal plan for the week and went food shopping. Here’s what our week looks like: Monday: Angel hair pasta with mushrooms, onions, & broccoli Tuesday: Cheese pizza, broccoli and cauliflower, salad Wednesday: Pesto chicken, stuffed portobella mushrooms, grilled zucchini Thursday: Sausage w/ peppers and onions, salad Friday: Pasta with shrimp and broccoli ———— What’s cooking at your house this week?

Ok, that’s not entirely true, but I don’t end up really cooking much if I haven’t planned a menu. I have a mental block at the grocery store and end up buying fruit, cereal and snacks. Nothing for dinner. So anyway, I have

It has been a long five or six months without a meal plan. I was nauseas for the first 4 months of my pregnancy and the past month or so we’ve been working on our kitchen remodel. I finally have a working kitchen again and I have a great appetite. I also feel extremely guilty for totally copping out on any cooking for so

It’s a new year and I plan on making an effort to get back into my weekly meal planning. I really notice a difference in the way we eat and spend money on food when I don’t meal plan. This week, I am doing a very simple and kid-friendly menu. Here goes: Monday: Chicken Nuggets ….. but not just any. These are from Jessica

I’m still following the South Beach Diet way of life, but not really doing the set meal plans or anything like that. I’ve just eliminated almost all of the sugar from my diet and limit the amount of carbs, making note to pick healthier choices. Here’s our dinner plan for the week: Monday chicken curry brown rice steamed broccoli Tuesday baked tilapia with chermoula

Today is Day 7 that I’ve been on the South Beach Diet so I figured I’d post my menu from the past week. I know the food choices are quite small or at least not what I’d normally grab for, so I figured it might spark some ideas for others on this diet. I am also drinking tons of water, which helps keep you
