LED Stair Rail Light

Since we tried to be eco friendly with our kitchen remodel we wanted to use all LED lights. Originally we were going to use this LED rope light for our under cabinet lighting, however, it was just a little too thick to get around the back of the Microwave hood. So instead of trashing it, we decided to use it as a under stair rail light. Our dark floors make the house darker than normal at night. We plugged in the rope light to a remote switch and whenever we go downstairs at night we just click the remote in our bedroom and the pathway is lit. We'll probably just throw a plant in the corner to cover up the extension cord.

You also get to view a hint of the backsplash we used more pics to come later.

Here are a couple of shots of the stair rail being lit up in the dark. These pictures that were taken in the dark were taken after the rail was not wired neatly. The one above is the final product.

You can also leave this on all night without worry of it costing that much money. LED's are the most efficient bulbs and can last in the neighborhood of 20-50 years before having to replace the bulb.
