Cabinets?

Right now I have oak wood cabinets, I really like the wood, color, texture, etc.... but T has suggested painting or doing something different to them. I hate the look of painted cabinets. IMHO they look really cheap. I wouldn't care to whitewash them slightly to give them more a distressed wood look.

What do you think? Leave 'em alone, distress/re-stain differently, or paint?

I would distress or restain. I have painted cabinets(they were like that when we bought the house) and I hate them! THey are white and if you get anything on them it shows right away.
But then again I am lazy I most likey would just leave them alone. That would be why mine are still painted! LOL!!!!!:biglaugh:

I'd restain. If, when you strip the existing stain, it turns out they look a little worn (naturally), then I'd try banging them up a bit more. I'd be mervous to do that though as a first resort, just in case you don't like it.:)
