Can't see sigs in some threads

I just realized that I can't see anybody's sigs anymore, but only in some forums/threads. I checked my preferences, and I have the "show signatures" box checked. Am I the only one?

hi jana. no, you aren't the only one. J changed it so that posts under a certain amount of characters don't show sigs. I think it has something to do with helping things load more efficiently.

Yeh this new idea is a two fold concept.

1) The post has to be at least 100 characters (it might be 70 I may have lowered it) to show the sig. That should promote quality discussion (or at least I hope so).

2) If the discussion is short and sweet (which is fine too) the signature won't show and will thus help loading the board more quickly.

3) Will help eliminate spammers attempts

I can see it promoting quality discussion (heh although I suppose it's technically promoting quantity, not necessarily quality) and loading pages faster, but I don't get the cutting down on spammers. I mean, are most spammers spamming to get their sig to show up?

Regardless of the reasons for the change, I'm cool with it! I just couldn't figure out why I could see sigs in some threads but not in others. :)
