Hi! This is my first post. I'm hoping someone can give me some ideas for a halloween appetizer I'm making for a party. I have a recipe for something called "Swamp", a dip based on spinach. I want to use small pretzel pieces as a fence, and need to know what food product I can use to glue the pieces together. Also, any ideas for edible things I can put on top to make it look more like a swamp? Thanks a lot!

Would a little bit of cream cheese work for the glue?

Not for sure about stuff to put on top of it. Maybe some almonds to look like fish??? Something stringy to look like snakes, but all I can think of right now is licorice and that wouldn't go well with a spinach dip...

Welcome to HT! A spinach "swamp" dip sounds delish & super fun!

I'm not sure about how you could make these edible, but when I think swamp, I think:
alligators
all sorts of birds (ducks, storks)
snakes, turtles, frogs
maybe a tire or some soda cans, a broken rowboat
swamp thing, of course

As far as the edible glue goes, are you really expecting people to eat it, or do you just want it to be all food-based for safety? If they're not going to eat the fence, a good old-fashioned paste of flour & water would work perfectly.

Good luck, and we want to see pictures when you're done! :)
