mounting plasma tv in bedroom

we got a new tv a few months ago and had it wired to be mounted on the wall, but haven't done that yet. we bought the kit last weekend and DH is going to put it up today. the problem is that we have a tivo box which will need a shelf or stand. Having a tv stand to hold it pretty much defeats the purpose of wall mounting it, so I guess we need a shelf. Has anyone else done this? Do the wires show and look bad?

Yes, we've had it up for a while now and it's great. We just need to get one of those tubes that hold all the cords since they aren't wired through the walls. They look kinda bad hanging down, but it's ok for now. ;)

What did you do for a shelf C? Did you do a wall mounted bracket type, or something different?

We haven't done a shelf yet....still using our little tv stand for the direct tv unit.
