I'm just curious....I've been doing a family tree and its funny I thought I had a big family....but it is huge!!!


I have one sister,I am the eldest of 21 grandchildren and I have 7 aunts/uncles...that is just my immediate family. My Grandparents on my mom side had 8 kids....then came the grandkids and there are about 16 great grandchildren.....:eek:

Mine is a really small family: dad, mom, my brother and me.

I do have aunts but I have no relation with them :leavin: they don't even count as family. Anyway, my mom has 6 sisters and 1 brother, and I have 5 cousins. My dad has no siblings.
My grandparents already died, all of them.
My dad has cousins and we have a good relation with them, but they live far away, one lives in Brazil, others in the UK, others in Portugal...

Anyway, as I said, for me we are 4 people in my family :)

Small family on my side: mom, dad, brother, me (and ofcourse my husband and son)
surviving grandparents of mine: my maternal grandma and grandpa, my paternal grandma
my dad's sister, my mom's brother and their spouses so: 2 aunts and 2 uncles
Only one set has kids so I have 2 first cousins

I have my mom, three sisters and a brother, a niece, a nephew and one more kiddo on the way.
On my mom's side I have two great aunts, 3 aunts and two uncles, while on my Dad's I have just 2 uncles living.
I have 15 first cousins on my mom's side, and at least double that on my dad's. (Honestly, I have lost track of all them, as there are so many of them and they are quite a bit older.)

My dad and grandparents are gone, as are two uncles on my mom's side, and 3 aunts and 3 uncles on my dad's side.

Small family here, pretty normal-sized extended family.

How many cousins? First cousins? I think 6? Many more distant cousins - removed, second, etc.

Aunts/Uncles? 5, not counting their spouses

My immediate family is small, just me and my brother and parents. However, my extended family is pretty big. My mom is one of 5 and my dad is one of 6. When my mom's family gets together (which is fairly often) there are about 30 of us. On my dad's side, my grandma is one of 11 so if we are all together which is only around the holidays usually there are a bunch. When my great grandpa passed away last year, there were 164 decendants!! And there have been more babies born in the past year. So, it takes a lot of space to get us all together.

How many cousins? 14 mom's side, 10 dad's side

Aunts/Uncles? 3 aunts/uncles mom's side, 4 aunts/uncles and 2 aunts on Dad's side.

On my mom's side of the family, there are 26 grandkids (coming from 4 kids!) and 4 great grandkids so far. On my Dad's side, there are 22 grandkids (coming from 7 kids) and 6 great grandkids so far.)

I guess mine is rather large/average -
Parents - two
Grandparents - 4 living, 1 dead whom I knew well
Siblings - 2 (plus two spouses) for a total of 3 kids for my parents
Nieces/Nephews - 4
Aunts/uncles 14
Cousins 18 + 2 deceased in adulthood + 4 1st cousins once removed (my cousins' kids)

We have rather close contact with my grandparents siblings and their children (second cousins) but not close enough for me to know how many there are.

Most of my cousins are of age or close to it, but I don't think we will have the number of children our ascendents did. Most of my cousins are in/graduated from college and will likely have at most 2 children. I have none, as do many of my cousins who are in their mid 20's to mid 30's

Cousins - 6 first cousins (all from my dad's sibs)
Aunts/Uncles - 4 (2 of whom have no kids)

I have tons of further extended family, though. My maternal grandfather is the youngest of 9. My maternal grandmother has two sibs, one has no kids, but I don't know how many the other has.

Naomi is the ONLY grandchild. She's also a great great grandchild, though. My maternal grandmother's father is still alive.

We are a big family, but immediate is just Mom and us four girls, plus four spouses and five grandchildren..u can see we not really pro-creating alot...:clap:

On Dad's side he was one of 11 kids, so there are grandkids and great grandkids galore, i will get a headache just counting them. :D

On Mom's side she was one of 7 kids and also a few grandkids and great grandkids -

Husband's side there are not many - his Mom was one of two girls, and his Dad was one of i think 7..not sure...but we do not keep in touch with alot them.
