I don't remember when or who but I do remember that someone posted some time back that they didn't really worry about washing fruits/veggies. Now don't go finger pointing or trying to find out who it was :). I just want to pass this along.

Thanks for the info! That's interesting, I never wash those bagged salads, they're supposed to be washed. Anyway, I rarely buy them, I prefer doing them myself, I find them so tasteless...
Thanks! I heard about that a while ago, and it's frightening. It's unfortunate, because like SS said, they're supposed to be washed & ready to eat! I do wash my fruits & veggies, but I have to admit that I skimp on the packaged baby spinach. I should make more of an effort to wash that, too.

It makes me wonder how much good washing really does though. I don't know about you guys but I certainly don't wash my veggies in water hot enough to kill anything.
Yeah, good point. *sigh* ;)

Gross. I agree on the washing. How much could it help. On the other hand, how often does this kind of thing happen? Hm. There are so many things we can't/shouldn't eat these days.

Ick! I always wash my fruits and veggies - just like I do when I bring them out of the garden. But I never even though TWICE about the salad stuff in the bags!!!! :argh:
Can I use the saying that what hasn't killed me yet has made me stronger?
