As you know, we have been trying to figure out how to get a healthy lawn. Yesterday, B treated it with iron oxide stuff (I don't know the specific name), and it left rust stains on our cement. All over the place! Sidewalks, driveway, back porch. A guy at Home Depot told B that it's organic and wouldn't do that. He either lied or is ignorant.
So, how do we get it off?
I tried scrubbing it with Coke after reading that it can help with rust. Nothing. But then I had no instructions on how to do it.
We got some CLR from Home Depot (free since they screwed up), and it did NOTHING.
Help!!! I've read that the longer it's there, the harder it is to get rid of.

There is something called "rust-off" that works pretty well for rust stains if you are still having this problem.

Thanks, C. We finally found something at a hardware store that works pretty well. Unfortunately, B didn't finish the job before winter hit, so it will be interesting to see if it works this summer. I've heard the longer it's there, the harder it is to remove.

Has B tried to get anymore of it off?

Ha, nope. We've been too busy with everything else. Some of it got taken care of when we had our patio expanded and stamped/overlaid.
If you have problems this spring/summer with it try getting Iron Out. It works really well. All you do is mix it with water and pour it on what ever is rusty. I have had a lot of good results with it. The longer it sits means better results. Just watch the smell because it will take your breath away.

I can't remember the name, but there's some stuff our friends (and apparently everyone in the Destin, FL area) use because the water they use to water the lawns with has heavy iron and stuff in it and it makes that brown stuff on the concrete over time. They get it at the hardware stores - said EVERYONE uses it (it wasn't CLR) and that it works great!
If you don't find anything that works, send me a PM and I'll call them and ask them the name of it for you. I'm sure you can get it anywhere - and it wasn't very expensive according to the hubby because it's such a commonly used product.
Good luck!
