I am the Matron of Honor for my friends wedding and the shower is Oct.7th in the evening. What would be a good theme? What about wine and cheese kind of thing? I'm not sure about kids going but what about keeping it more adult like? Any ideas?

I like it! We did martinins and finger foods for my girl friend's shower this spring... and the only game we played was the soon-to-be wed game (where the bride and groom compete to get the most right answers about their sooon-to-be spouse). It was hilarious! Everyone got a kick out of it. And we also made him dress up like a bride and her like a groom. It was a fun time. This was a totally adult party as the booze was a flowin'.

That sounds like a good idea.
At my friends recent shower, there was no theme or games. Everyone had just gotten together, had lunch, and she unwrapped gifts. It was nice getting to know everyone.
For the kids, if you know that they are going to attend, how about getting them some grape juice and cheese.

I like those iddeas!!! I will have to check if they are inviting men or if its a ladies only. Maybe we can do the bachelorette party right after...we want to get a limo!!! Maybe have it pick us up right at the shower....

You could make the theme fit in with certain bide/groom details. Like if they got engaged in Italy --do Italian foods/wines and decorations. Or if they enjoy a certain spot like Hawaii, go for a luau (I never could spell that word) theme. Time of day theme is also an easy thing to do. If the shower is going to be mid morning---brunch foods, afternoon--lunch foods, evening---buffet style, and my favorite late evening (very cheap and popular) serve mixed drinks, punches, and lots of desserts.

The limo sounds great. I bet it will be a blast! Good luck!
