Since the tipic of date night came up, I need some new (and cheap) ideas for date night. We usually go for a ride, go to eat---or rent a movie and cook at home. Kinda gets old after awhile.
We live in the butt crack of the nation, there are no museums, nice restaurants, plays, concerts, etc... here. Probably would have to drive 2 hrs to get to any of that.
Any ideas?

How about having a fondue party for two. Get a pot of chocolate and assorted fruits, pound cake, marshmallow.....

You could make a campfire outside and roast hot dogs and marshmallows.

Have a picnic before the sun goes down and then go night fishing.

Go to a pottery place and make something for each other.

Great ideas! Oh wow, love them all. I seen the fondue melting thingy *I have no idea what these are called) at Wal-mart and will definately invest in one. Tommy loves to fish, that would be right up his alley and I have always wanted to make pottery. Strange....How did you do that? :D

Take a stroll around the block -- and hold hands as you walk

Do you live near an airport? Park and watch the planes take off and land

Have a game night....

Ok, those are all lame, but just to change things up a bit... LOL

What a cool thread! I love all the suggestions you were given :D

There are many things you can do, do you have a spa near you? That would be cool!

How about finding a place where you know nobody goes (a beach would be the best, but you don't have that, neither do I, crap!) and lighting a lot of candles in a circle and rose petals and well... your imagination can do the rest.

Now that it is Summer you can watch the stars, drive to a place where there are no lights (you can take a towel with you and lie on the floor).

Mommy's suggestions are better though :)

I think those are great ideas C and SS. We both need more exercise and have been talking about walking of the evenings. We have a tiny airport here that single engine planes use---mostly Drug Lords from the city use it to bring their stash in :gag: but every few w/es they have an air show *not the druggies, the county :D* and we are yet to see one. That's a must do too.
We did have game night the other night. Actually we started out by playing Phase 10 *cool card game, if you haven't tried it* then T suggested to make a small wager....etc... anyhow :eyebrow:

SS....we have no spas. I sure wish we did tho! The remote place w/ candles is a great idea. We have many open fields high ontop of the many Mtns. here. I have thought about packing a picnic and taking the ATVs to one of those. That would also be a good spot to star watch. May just have to do that next w/e.

I was going to suggest a picnic but everyone else beat me to it. ;) Maybe you could do a couple picnics but theme them. If you do one on a montain make hearty sandwhiches, trail mix & sports drinks; on a beach or near any kind of water make seafood of some kind (tune fish or something simple), light munchies nad fruit juice. I think you get the idea. Its not too hard to do the same thing many times but make it seem like a new idea by just changing the location and menu.

Great idea Katy. We plan on going to a state park next month. It's about an hr and 1/2 from here. It has a planitarium, wildlife, etc.... Wonder what I should take? THey allow no grills inside the park and serve no food. You can bring picnics or take out.

You could make wraps. Get some tortilla wraps, lettuce, sprouts, deli slice, and cheese then wrap them up. Get small bags of chips, and a can of juice. Toss in an orange, apple, or banana and you can just toss everything away when you are done.

Would they allow you to bring a kite? You could help each other and take turns flying it.

Are you into gardening? If so, you both could grow flowers or vegetables together.

You could try new recipes or bake new things together.
