My little pug will not eat dog food. I have tried all different kinds and he still eats my 2 cats food. Is there any harm? I give him dog treats as well as the dog food which he'll eat the treats but not the food. We only do dry food because the vet said its best for them. Any ideas? I thought about getting that dog food gravy and adding that to his food.

My dog does the same thing, always goes for the cat food. And we also only use dry food, and he loves dry cat food, but dont even think about giving him dry dog food  oh no. But, my vet told me not to let him eat the cat food, that it is not good for him. So we had to move the cats food to higher ground. Oh, and get this, my little guy even uses the cats littler box :biglaugh: . My son told me that and I did not believe him, until I saw the little sucker coming out of the littler box with my own two eyes. I dont know why he does that, he has a doggy run, with a doggy door, but if its raining out or snowing, litter box all the way. I dont think he likes getting his feet, oh sorry paws wet lol.

Ok, are you sure he's actually using the litter box? Sorry to be gross, but I only ask b/c my parents' dog runs to the litter box whenever he comes over and it's definitely NOT to go in there, it's to take stuff out. :gag:

LOL Q. I have read on the net that you can train puppies to use litter boxes. Hopefully he's leaving things and not taking them out....:biglaugh:
Heather......thanks to my parents sneaking up here and giving my black lab leftovers only...she refuses to eat dogfood. I have even tried the starvation method by only giving her dog food and nothing else. She would starve to death first. I finally tried Wal-Mart brand Ol' Roy Dinner Rounds. It's a dry food that isn't hard or too soft. Chewy and has a "meaty" middle. That is the first and only dry dog food that dog has ate since she was a pup. Maybe if you try to find a brand that the dog will eat she might at least eat her food before snacking on the cat's food.

Not to be gross (or to second guess your doggie, Suzie:)), but are you sure he's not in there (the litter box) eating cat poo? I know it's the grossest thing in the world, but my bro's dog used to do that if we let him near the litter box. And I googled this and it seems to be a common doggy trait. Ew. http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&A=1474
