Ok I dont remember where the thread went on this subject, so I just figured I would start a new one.
If you all remember I was going to to the laminate floor in my living room. And I went online did some research and found Lumber Liquidators to be the most reasonable in price. I picked a floor ordered it, and to save the $125.00 delivery fee, we drove out to God knows where and picked up the floor. We got it home, and got the guy here who started to pick up our old stinky rug and low and behold what do we find??? , The most beautiful wood floor I have ever seen:huh: . When I picked up the corner of the rug I saw blue, so I thought it was blue tile, and I didnt like it, and I thought to myself, who would have blue tile in there living room, nobody, it was the stupid foam.
Ok so now the guy says it would be a shame to cover this floor up, and I have to agree. The only bad thing is that Doug is home, and see's and hears this all. He is so pissed at me for not seeing the wood floor under the rug.
Well now I call Lumber Liquidators and ask about there return procedure, umm, there is non, you buy it, it's yours:scratch: . You can however bring it back and change the color. But that has to be done within 7-14 days.
Well to say that I am in the doghouse is putting it mildy....

Awe SQ, that is SHITTY! Do you think you can sell it via ebay or Craiglist or something? Or even via an add in the paper?

That sucks!! It is wonderful that you discovered a beautiful wood floor though! :D

I understand the predicament. We had an issue where we ordered incorrectly and got waaaaaaaay too much flooring than we needed. The company would not take it back. It's in our garage and we hope to use it someday, but what a waste!! I sympathize with you.

Could you use it in another room such as a bathroom or laundry room? Another option would be to sell as Meliz mentioned.

Well we did think of using the floor in the kitchen, but, the kitchen is so big, and we would need to buy more. Then Doug came up with the idea of using it for the house Upstate, which I thought was a good idea, but he would have to bring this floor back and exchange it for a different color. Which they will do if its done within a week, I think she said. And Doug has no time this week to go all the way out there.
Now the ebay thing I am seriously thinking about I want to talk to doug about it first and then I'll whip out the digital cam:) .
Anyway, the guys just left and they did my floor, Oh it looks so beautiful. But what a smell, I have had to use my inhaler twice today and I have not used since, I cant remember when. I hope the smell goes away soon, and I am a nervous wreck trying to keep the cats from going in there. But it is nice. I'll post before & after pics when it drys.

 you nut! Are we related? That is something I would do :D

I would measure bedrooms in the rental and at upstate.....every room I could think of. Is there another Lumber Liquidators closer to you that would exchange it? Most chains have a chain wide return/exchange policy.
If Ebay doesn't work, try advertising it in your local sales papers. It should sell quickly. Things like that go pretty fast.

:barf: :barf: OMG, the smell is getting worse and worse. I thought as the day went by and the floor dried the smell would go away too, but its not. My eyes are burning, and I am useing the inhaler I got back when I was sick. But, my son is really sick. First he said he had a headache and then, well you get the drift. He left here and went to my sisters house, and called me a little while ago and said since he's been out of the house he feels much better. I dont think he'll be coming home tonight. And, we cant turn the heat on cause the heat intensifies the smell, BRRRRR,,, Doug & I are thinking of going to a motel tonight, (well I am thinking of it, Doug is too cheap LOL). I cant wait till this is over...... I am sure it's all going to be worth it.

You do need to find somewhere else to stay tonight Q. Those chemicals can be dangerous.

Wheeewww What a smell. OMG, if I ever do that again, it will be done when nobody is in the house. My poor son really got the worst of it, but then again I told him about 20 thousand times, stop opening & closing your bedroom door, dont come out of your room unless it is absoultely necessary, but noooooooooo, in and out like a 2 year old. Until he got sick. Then he left. He stayed at my sisters that night. I kept my bedroom door closed and only came out for bathroom and food. It was bad for me, but not as bad as for him. When doug got home he said lets out to eat, and we did and it was good to get out and breath freash air.
Was it worth it, oh yes, the floor is beautiful. I could just stand at the doorway and look at it all day long:inlove: , yes I am in love with my living room floor LOL.
Doug is Upstate he said the wood burning stove, ( ) is coming along nicely, and that should be finished by Wed, I hope so cause we are supposed to go up Friday for the week with the kids. So we will see. I will post pictures..

Well we wound up putting the laminate floor in the bedrooms Upstate, and oh btw, no it does not smell at all. But it sure does look nice. I am almost sorry I didnt put it in my living room now LOL. My living room floor looks great but it is not as durable as that laminate floor. I have a scratch on it already and I am ever so careful, I think Logan scratched it when he was playing with his cars. What can you do.

What floor did you use? the prices even with shipping from Lumber Liquidators are nice, may get if from them..do you have pics? just curios! We had a back room that was an addition and for sure does not have hard wood floor under. What was in this country with putting carpet over hard wood??? Seams crazy to me.
I got marry a year ago, and we live where my husband has live since he was 4 years old. Imagine the amount of junk, trash and dirt it was here. He is a clean person but not into static. His mom and dad pass away 5 and 10 years ago. And they where the type of people that will died before trowing away a mayonnaise jar lid. So the first 3 month was putting stuff on the trash, (bags and bags of mayonnaise jard lids) and yard sales, and donations months. All over the ugly carpet. Since I use to rent at a place where they took the carpet out to find the NICER hard wood floor under ( but they tear it apart to put laminate! I almost cry! I have pics if you want to see that!) I asked what is it under? And TA TA! We had hardwood under! So I hire 2 guys and we put the car on the driveway and everything in the garage and rip the carpet out. The place looked so nice in only 3 hours!! No old furniture, no dirty ugly carpet! The floor need to be refinish (I don't want to deal with that mess...yet!) but is still great! Then I only put back in the house stuff/furniture that I liked, so the garage is still full of junk. But it was a win win situation, the house look beautiful, no old stuff in it and no hubby driving me crazy opening and closing the garage! Hurray!

You know I did have pics of the laminate floor in the bedrooms but, (dont you just hate that but LOL), I deleted them off my camera before the holidays. I will check and see if the pics somehow wound up on a cd, but I doubt it. The laminate floor I got was dark, but still nice, the only thing about the laminate was it does not shine as much as the one we had re-finished. But, if I had it to do all over again, I would not re-finish a floor again, to much chemicals and yucky smell. I would go laminate all the way... :)
