I Thought I would post some pics of my horse! HE is with out doubt the best hose in the world! ( everyone with a horse of course thinks they have the best horse, but I really do! ;) ) He has taught me patience something I thought I would never have! LOL!!!
I am saddle breaking him right now it has been a long process, I am hoping by mid summer to have it done! Enjoy the pics they are from Oct 22nd when I got him...He is bigger and more filled out now! :inlove: I need to take more!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE horses and my dream is to one day become a horse owner. Can you give me some information on what a beginner should know about horses? I was thinking of getting an adoption horse as there are so many unwanted horses out there. Also, what are the monthly costs of horse ownership?

BTW, I just love your horse, he is gorgeous!

It depends on your area, I live in fam country so it is a little cheaper then say near a city. Buying the horse and even board is not the expensive part, it is the tack, trianing, and Vet bills that get expensive. You really have to commit to your horse, so there is alot of time invested too! My Advice before you get a horse is to take lessons and get really comfy in the saddle. ANd if you are not ready to dive right in, there are alot of places that will let you lease a horse. Yes it can get expensive but it is better then paying for a shrink! LOL!!! I come back from the barn a different person, and that is a great thing! LOL!!!! He is my dream come true! Good Luck!

Also, can you give me some info about the different types of horses? Such as quarter horse, filly, mare, etc, etc??? Sorry, I don't know much but I really want to learn.

Tack is everything you use on your horse Brushes, saddle pads, saddles, bridle,reins,bit...and so on

A filly is a female horse below the age of 2 after that they are considered a mare.

A colt is a male horse below the age of 2 after that they are a stallion until you have them cut(nutered) then they are a gelding.

I have decided that even though I do love Chevelle I am getting a new horse. I just can not handle him he is too spookie, and my girls want to ride so I am getting a paint here is the link on this breed http://www.apha.com/ I love Chevelle too much to not let him go to someone that can handle him. I am sad, but it will be nice to get on my new horse and just ride! Hope all this helps let me know what else you would like to know!
