OMG, my nostrils are on FIRE!!! Seriously, as soon as I walk downstairs, I am taken aback at how strong my house smells of cat urine and I have no idea where it is coming from!! I've gotten on my hands and knees and sniffed around, but unfortunately I cannot find the source. HELP! How do I get rid of this smell? It's killing me.

Oh and if you were a cat, where would you pee (besides your litter box)???

I would pee in the corner; or maybe in a plant, if you have a large one somewhere... if not then maybe under furniture (so I didn't get caught).

As for smell... argh. I think you have to find it and clean it to really get rid of the stench... but I would also light oodles of candles.

if you can find the sore spot, 'Natures Miracle' is supposed to be the holy grail of cat pee smell removal. Peepers has turned our brand new dining room into his own personal litter box (barfing, peeing and pooping, not to mention leaving big black puffs of hair around). I have tried natures miracle and he doesn't seem to pee in there anymore, but he still thinks it's ok to poop in the dining room. I love my cat but man... he is a dirt ball. And he's not even that nice, lol.

LOL, D! I'm with you. My cat is so not that nice either. She never was, but I love her anyway!! I think the culprit was actually in her litter room! I found a puddle of urine in the bag and it STUNK. I cleaned that up and bleached the floor in that room. It smells much better now.

Sometimes I walk into our family room and I smell cat pee! BUT if we just go change the litter box which is in the laundry room -- I never smell the pee again. Weird huh? I guess the odor just carries itself through the rooms. I've stopped using the Plug Ins but now I have reed diffusers everywhere. Everyone alway says my house smells great. And we now have ... gulp ... 4 cats. 3 are indoor/outdoor kitties though so I know that helps.

Natures Miracle and OOPS are definitely great! (Any enzyme cleaner actually.)
It sounds like you found it, but if you have that problem again... get a black light (yes... a BLACK LIGHT) and turn the lights out and use it. Cat urine (actually any urine) glows in the dark. (Makes you wonder how I know that doesn't it?!?) You'll be able to find any new or old spots and clean them appropriately.
(If you really want to gag... check out your toilet!!!) :nono:

ooh great idea about the black light. I definitely should use that around my house. With a mischievous toddler and an old lady cat, I'll probably find lots of good stuff.
