I am making beef tenderloin for Christmas dinner. It will be for 6 adults. IS there any good rule of thumb for how much to buy per person? I am buying it this weekend b/c I have heard that they sell out at some grocery stores (I am buying it at Costco)

I always over cook....I love left overs! :thumb2: I think 6lbs should be enough......I would be buying 10lbs hehehehehehe!!!

I would do a 6lb. tenderloin as long as all of the children are very young. If there are any older kiddos I'd do an 8lb.

thanks girls. It is for 6 adults -- I doubt N will eat any meat. I think 6 lbs sounds right and we might even have some leftovers with that. I love a good tenderloin sandwich the next day!!!

My Grandma made a pork tenderloin for Thanksgiving. She slow cooked it in her crock pot for 4 hours then pulled it out and applied homemade peach jam all over and put it in her oven for another hour and let me tell you what!!!!:lick::nod::drool:
