does anyone else use a neti pot? I have had one for about a year but sort of put it on the shelf and forgot about it. Well, I have (another) raging sinus infection, and my mom reminded me about my neti pot. I have been using it 2-3 times a day. What an amazing difference it has made! I am on anti-biotics now as well but wow, I feel so much better after using it. I can already tell that this sinus infection is going to go away more quickly too - mostly from using the neti pot - it's awesom. I am going to start using it everyday to help with allergies from now on.

They recommend one at doctors ALL the time, and believe it or not, they actually SHOWED one on Oprah the other day (not that I watch Oprah) - and showed a lady using one! May seem icky - but she said it wasn't hard and felt good! It really helps clean the dust out of the sinus passageways. Good for you having and using yours!

My husband has been using one for over a year now and raving about it. I'm the one with bad allergies, so he's really been pushing me. Cedar allergies hit me bad this month (I swear I've never had them before), so I got one for me. I haven't really been able to use it though because I'm too stopped up. I'm completely blocked so the solution goes down the back of my throat instead of out the other nostril. Boo!!!! I will start using it more regularly though when I'm not so stopped up... what little got through really seemed to help.

Honeybunny... if you have any Nasonex, it can help unstop you - then you could use the Neti... Just a thought. I have horrible allergies year round - so I know how it is. Mine is just a matter of degrees of how bad but they're never gone.

It is a prescription, but your doc could prescribe it for you if you don't mind sprays - and it's non-addictive like over the counter sprays... :)

Flonase has helped me but for some reason, this year's cedar allergens are awful - way worse than I've ever exeperienced. I've had 4 sinus infections in less than a year and I attribute that to allergies. Hopefully, daily use of the neti will help - I've heard amazing stories about daily use of a neti pot clearing up allergies

My MIL swears by them, I just haven't ever remembered to pick one up. Her doctor told her about it and she uses it constantly.
