I am having my first meeting with a personal trainer tuesday. I am excited and nervous. She is similar to Jillian from the Biggest Loser. While I know I will get a good work out THATS what I'm afraid of...lol. She said plan on 1- 1 1/2 hours the first day for a meeting. She will go over my medical history,my limitations,measure me,and go over what type of program I would like to do. I also have been following Weight watchers online and think I will go back to the meetings. I feel I need to be held accountable and online your really not....only yourself.

that is so wonderful, let us know how it goes! I am finally back in the gym (took a while to get dd2 acclimated to the kid's club) so I am thinking of meeting with a trainer some time soon.
Can't wait to hear about everything - I am sure you will find your trainer extremely supportive!!

Thanks Ladies....I will let you know!! I am so excited...its something to look forward too. I am even going to change my hours at work to make sure i can take a spinning class they offer twice a week(gotta love being manager)

Woohoo that's cool... I wish I weren't so lazy for sports, but for me it's a torture... but with a professional who takes your skills into account I bet you'll love it!

Well THF you've seen me on myspace so I will have updated on there for sure with my ripped bod....:D I would like a very toned very low fat % body. This woman is going to get me there. She doesn't know what she her challenge is yet....:lol:

hehehe I crawled over and was able to pull myself up to the computer...no just kidding. I love her!!! It was awesome. She measured me and showed me how to use everything. I went this morning and was able to go on the treadmill for 30 min. I like to walk with an incline so now my thighs hurt.But a good hurt. She had a class going on at the time so I wasn't able to use the weight machines. Its a small Ywca that I am attending. Its way cheaper than the YMCA where they have more equipment. One year for ywca is $40 plus classes and the ymca is $300 a year plus classes. I chose the smaller. It will be enough for what I want to do. I am going to try and fit in a spinning class they offer. I think it sounds like fun. She told me(bluntly) that I needed to lose the fat in order to see the muscles. I didn't take offense. I am about 20 pounds too heavy and I told her what my goal is. I would like to almost be at a body builder type body. Not over the top but very toned and I want to see muscle definition. She has set up the weights for me so I will do that 3 times a week then do cardio 2 times a week. I am going for a walk tonite just because its nice out.

And I'm very impressed - truly I am! When I was body building, I wasn't very smart about my cardiovascular fitness... looked great but couldn't run across the street - you know? So the fact that you're combining muscle toning and cardio is wonderful! VERY SMART!
Be sure to stretch good! It will help with the soreness if you stretch and warm up before and after... (I'm sure she told you that though...)

Thanks THF!!! I am so excited and its like finally something I'm doing for just ME!!! If you ever have any tips THF I would love to hear them. Either here or myspace. I made turkey burgers last night with summer squash(I boiled it and sprayed it with I can't believe its not butter spray)and made a pasta salad with whole wheat pasta and FF italian dressing. It was so good. I have been changing our meals and incorporating more fruits and veggies in our diet. I am trying to do Weight Watchers online so far I'm down 5 pounds in 2 weeks. I feel better and am sleeping at night. Its awesome...

I'm so glad to hear that you are enjoying your new workout! And awesome for you to start eating more fruits and veggies. We need to work on more fruit in our house! You mentioned sleeping better - I have been sleeping like a rock since I've been back in the gym. That alone is worth it to me!

just wanted to let everyone know I am still going to the gym. MON.,wed.,frid.,I do weight training and tues. and thurs. I do cardio. I give myself the week end off. Pluss I work 10-6 every saturday so there isn't time and they are closed sundays. So its ok. I went to dr. yesterday and am back on thyroid meds and my chlolesterol is WAY too high(due to the under active thyroid). I have to get it down. I have a blood sugar monitoring machine now because I take Metformin for my ovarian cysts. Its a diabetic medicine but helps with the cysts. I'm not diabetic. I have to prick my finger several times a day. I have a Vit. D def. which anyone who lives where I do would. We don't get out much here until now. plus my calcium was low. It was a very LONG dr. visit but I feel great,

It really is great that you're staying with it Heather! I have to believe that it's going to help your overall health in the long run...
What did your doctor say when you told him about your new workout schedule? Was he/she excited for you too?

My dr. said keep it up. He is really into fitness and goes hiking himself alot. He even recommended some trails to me. I have been going to the gym every day and feel really good. I have 10 pound weights that I use at home too. I do 2 sets of bi cep curls and tri cep curls. I want toned arms. I do 50 crunches each day to help with the pooch.
