Okay - where's our appliance guru?

I have a brand new, side by side Frigidare refrigerator... maybe 6 months old. Suddenly - it has started to SMELL inside! So - I figure I've let something get past expiration or something...

I take EVERYTHING out - throw a few things away "just in case" and clean it totally! IT STILL SMELLS! Like something DEAD! And no - I'm not kidding!

There's no bad food - nothing! I scrubbed it totally - taking all shelving out, etc., there are Baking Soda things in there - and it's BAD!

I don't know what on EARTH could be the problem - but I'm desperate! HELP!

Is the smell for sure inside the refrigerator? Or could there possibly be a dead mouse under it?

I don't have any suggestions other than a dead mouse. Sorry!

Funny - that's what my neighbor said. No - it's not a mouse and it's definitely inside. I've moved it out - checked underneath and all around. Taken everything out of the refrigerator side and the freezer side - including dumping all of the ice from the ice maker. Scrubbed down the entire insides (I swear I still had some of the NEW tags and tape inside!) and still... smelly!

Where's SuziQ?

Have you tried putting a box of baking soda in there? Or one of those odor neutralizers?

do you have a water/ice dispenser in the freezer door? My first thought was maybe there was some mold in a water line. If you do have the water/ice dispenser, you might try changing the water filter??
I don't know what else, but that would drive me insane.

I wiped down the inside first with baking soda and water - then with a bleach solution when the first didn't work.

I'm buying a new water filter (Puresystem) just in case - but I checked it and rinsed it and it LOOKED fine!

I also put two new boxes of baking soda in both sides!

Water line... that's a thought... I wonder if that's possible?

And you guys are right... it's driving me NUTS!!!

Is it still under warranty? Can you bring the fridge guy out and have a look?

You so SMART! (And yes - I'm a smartass!) Dang why haven't I thought of that? That's the very reason we purchased the fridge we did from the place we did! Because they come ANYWHERE and work on it FOR FREE! Lordy - I need a keeper! Thank you Meliz!

(Okay - hubby didn't think of this either!)
