I used to be on Weddingtalkers almost everyday, but then my home computer when capoot and work got so busy I didn't have time to check in. Well I got a new computer last weekend and I plan on catching up with all you girls again. I've missed everyone so much and can't wait to hear what everyone's up to, and to meet all the new people I see here.
Just a little about myself for those who don't know me, my name is Missy and I live in Austin, Tx. I married my hubby last April and was all over Weddingtalkers during the entire planning process, and for a long time afterwards. I work as a CPA and although I like what I do I hate where I work. My husband and I are talking about moving in a year so that he can go to school, so I don't really want to change jobs if I'm only going to be there a year or less. We own a house in Pflugerville which is right out side of Austin, and we are in the process of remodeling our master bathroom at the moment. Some of you might remember we found a lot of water damage right after we bought our house that wasn't disclosed to us. So we're still trying to deal with all that mess. We don't have any children yet, but we do have 3 cats and a puppy (I treat them like my babies anyway). I really have the baby bug, but since our future is so up in the air right now we can't really start TTC. Hopefully once we have solid plans we can actually set a more definite date. Until then I'll just live vicariously through you girls. :)

Welcome back! I said hey in the "waiting" thread but wanted to get more info here. I hope you can get all your house mess fixed up soon.
Here's a horror story that might (or might not) make you feel better. A couple who goes to our church went somewhere over the holidays and hired and in-home service to take care of their large dog while they were gone. They never showed. When the couple got home (with their new baby), it was to a huge mess. The dog hadn't been let out so their carpet was completely ruined. All the water in the toilet was gone because that's what he'd been drinking to survive. And their house was a shambles in general because the poor thing was going stir crazy. He's fine, and they've got new carpet now, but ugh, what a mess! I'd be suing that company for sure!

Alisha - I hope when my name came up it was with fond memories. :) I'm so glad to have a new computer so I can finally keep up with everybody.
Marg - that is horrible what happened to your friends! I would definitely sue the pants off that company. Did they even apologize to the people or offer to pay for the repairs? The worst thing about the story is that the dog could have died. If I paid someone to watch my animals and one of them died due to neglict I think I'd track them down with a bazooka and take them out! (Okay maybe nothing that drastic)
Krysti - we are still talking about moving to Myrtle Beach. That is ultimately the plan, we just have to get all the house stuff taken care of. We're hoping once the bathroom is remodeled we will be able to rent it out. Its kind of touch and go for now though, but hopefully by summer things we'll be more clear.
C & M - thanks for the welcome! I've missed you guys and can't wait to catch up with everybody.
We got our puppy, General, and new kitty, Harley, in November from one of the animal shelters. General is supposed to be a lab mix, but I think he's golden retriever mix. I'll try posting some pics of them this weekend.
Well, I'm off to catch up with everybody. Talk to ya'll later!

I don't know if the company apologized or anything. I heard the story third hand, with men being the informers, so no details whatsoever. I guess the poor doggie was all right but probably a bit traumatized since he's used to having people around and was suddenly "abandoned".
Congrats on your two "kids"! Where are those pics?

Hey Missy! Glad to hear from you. I read your posting in my journal the other day but wanted to post something over here when I had more time to type. It's 4:22pm and I leave at 5pm so I'll try to get caught up quickly. I read that you didn't sell your house after all. Still dealing with that ordeal must be a pain but one that's worth fighting for. Hope you get a solution this year.
Hope to see some pictures of your dogs soon. Have a good weekend sweetie.;)
