My youngest asked me to make this for her friends this weekend. Figured while I had it out, I'd post it!

Peanut Butter Cake with Hot Fudge Topping

1/2 cup peanut butter
1 tsp. salt
1 cup water
2 eggs
2 sticks butter
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 cup sugar

In large bowl mix flour, sugar, salt, and baking soda.

In small bowl mix eggs and buttermilk.

Bring peanut butter, water, and butter to a rapid boil.
Pour boiling mixture over dry mixture and mix well.
Add buttermilk and egg mixture.
Pour into greased jelly roll pan.

Bake at 350 for 20-25 min. Cool.

Frosting: Bring 1 stick butter, 1/2 cup peanut butter, and 6 Tbs.
buttermilk to a rapid boil. Add 1 tsp. vanilla. Mix in 1 box
powdered sugar. Mix well.

Frost cake while frosting is hot.

Drizzle with warmed hot fudge ice cream topping.

If you realllllly like chocolate and PB ... you have to try this ... East Coasters will know what I mean when I say it's like a "Peanutbutter Tandy Take" ...

Peanut Butter "Kandy Kakes"
2 Tbls. butter
1 cup milk
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
4 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder
12 oz. peanut butter (smooth)
16 oz. of chocolate bars, broken in pieces
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PRE-HEAT oven to 350
Beat
Sugar and flour, eggs and baking powder in bowl.
Heat
butter and milk to boil in saucepan, ADD to above batter.
Pour into greased sheet pans (2) and
Bake 15 - 20 minutes @ 350
While still hot, spread Peanut Butter over cake evenly.
REFRIGERATE
When cool, melt chocolate pieces in double boiler and spread over cake.
Cool at room temp. & cut into squares.
Makes 2
My brother-in-law had a picnic this past summer and his sister made them, as soon as they were brought out they were gone, I had to split one with T. They are fabulous, I may mix up a batch this weekend, thanks for reminding me of them. I have so many recipes I forget about. :rolleyes:
Wish I knew about it when I lived in Florida, I loved them and couldn't find Tandy Takes anywhere. ;)
