I thought that would get a few people's attention! *LOL* :D

My name is Katina, I am 29 yrs old and live in NW Florida. DH is 32 and active duty Air Force (soon to be deployed :( ). We have been married since October 2000 and have been trying to conceive (TTC) baby #1 for alittle over 21 months. I'm here because I wanted to find others who are actively TTC-ing and also a place to hang out once I get pregnant. I'm currently writing a book about the infertility struggles that women face in life, and compiling a whole bunch of these (in)fertility stories from various women into this book (including my own personal "fertility journey" story). I'm thinking that if I can help at least one other person deal with and work through infertility, then I have made a difference in this world. I am also working on a fictional murder-mystery novel that is set in a fishing village on the gulf coast of Florida. (If anyone is interested in hearing more about either book, please feel free to ask! I love writing and can talk about my books for hours! *LOL*)
I have 2 cats (Smokey and Patches), who act like my "children". DH is divorced and has a 12 yr old daughter, but she lives with bio-mom in another state. My SD and I get along great, which is a blessing since I have heard horror stories from friends about their step-relationships. (Bio-mom is a different story!! ) We get SD for the summer and holidays (when bio-mom is feeling generous), which is sooo wonderful. I cannot wait til this summer to see my SD!!!
I don't know how to post any pictures, so until then, you'll have to just imagine what I look like. (Think red hair and light green eyes.) I'm very happy to have found this place and enjoy reading everyone's posts. (Thanks for setting up this cool website, Csara! :D ) Hope everyone has a great day and sending out *happy baby dust* to all the TTC-ers! *smiles*

I wish you the very best of luck.

When I got pregnant for the first time, we thought it was a miracle because we had been together for years and... nothing. My husband had been told a few years before that he wouldn't be able to conceive children because his count was so low. He was a sick and premature baby, so it was a big risk anyway. When we got married, we set a 9 month deadline that if we weren't pregnant by then, we would both get tested and do whatever it took to have the baby we wanted so badly.

Now, our healthy baby boy is 2 1/2 and I'd do it all over again a million times. I thank God every day and hoping we'll have another on the way very soon.

Good luck to you and you're in my prayers.

Hi Katina!

Your books sound really interesting. I wish you lots of success with both. I will definitely have some more questions for you another time. I have tons of book ideas and I always seem to get started, but never finish. So...we'll talk about that more later. :)

I also want to wish you tons of luck with TTC. My husband and I have not started yet, but it will be fairly soon and I just hope that we don't have any struggles. I can imagine how difficult, upsetting and frustrating it is. I think it's wonderful that you are writing a book dealing with this issue. It seems to be very common and I know how much having support from others going through the same thing must help.

Here ya go: :babydustg :babydustb so that very soon you will be: :1preggo:

Welcome! Your user name looks familiar. Were you at Baby Talkers at one time?

Good luck on ttc!! We've been ttc #1 for over a year now. I'm on my last cycle of Clomid and really hoping I don't have to try out anything else. An HSG would be my next step, and beyond that, I'm not sure. :babydustb

I think that's so cool that you're writing books! I've always thought that would be fun but doubt I'd be very good at fiction.

Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone! It's so neat to meet all of you. I'm glad that I found this website.

Margarita, I wasn't on BabyTalkers, but I am a moderator over at BabyCrowd (and I used to hang out over at BabyMed when that site first started almost 2 yrs ago). You might have seen my name while browsing either website a while back. (You know, now I'm going to have to check out that BabyTalkers website out of curiosity to see who that person was! *LOL*)

The (in)fertility book is coming along. It's alittle slow going as I am still trying to get people interested in writing and submitting their own "fertility journey" story. It's not that ppl don't want to write a story, just that they think their story isn't "interesting" or "inspirational" enough. I used to be the same way until I joined a writer's orgnaization and realized that everyone is a good writer, just that we all have different writing styles. So that is where I am at with the book. (I'd be interested in hearing some of you all's stories! :) )

Thank you again for the warm welcome! I'm very happy to be here! :D

Hi Katrina and welcome. Good luck on TTC. A strange old wives tale I heard once was to start taking geritol (the vitamin for older ppl).....old women swear there's a baby in every bottle. Have fun here, it's a great place to hang out.

 Now I'm stumped. I haven't ever been to either of those sites (that I can remember - you never know with me  ). Oh, and so you don't get confused Baby Talkers is now here. Csara used to have a set of 3 sites (Baby, Wedding, and Home Talkers) and merged them all into this wonderful new one. :)

I'd share my infertility story with you, but it really isn't very inspirational since we haven't had any success yet. Well, I guess the Clomid did get me ovulating regularly, but that's not very exciting.
