I am getting to the point where I would just prefer a nice refrigerator box!
To make a long story short, it is a long tiring drawn out process that starts out fun, and is winding up te be annoying.
K, I am better now, Thanks, Kell :D

Did you get the house? DH and I are still waiting to have enough of a down payment to buy one.....right now we need at least 5% and that means we need around $10 000.....so it will be awhile...but I can dream:D

It is a pain buying a house. I bought mine from my grandmother so I did not have to negitiate price, but signing papers and all the inspections took 22 days :banghead:
Carolyn, why do you need 5% down? Right not all you need are closing costs. You can also get a rate of about 6-8%. Our closing costs were only $2500.

I agree. A great big PITA. Whoever came up with all that paperwork MUST have been getting paid a lot.

Yeah , I was going to mention to you also Carolyn, That you can do seller concessions and have your closing costs paid by the sellers.
Ya know who would be good to talk about this to is Trina:) She used to be a realtor, I bet she has some Ideas.
I know I am not putting down 10,000 smackers
There are a billion different types of loans out there, not just conventional ones:)
Kendra, That house needed to much work, and We decided that we would just get something that was newer.

There's also some deal for first time buyers that I believe allows you to either put down a small amount or none at all. Good luck!

In Canada CMHA (Canada Mortgage Housing Authority) requires anyone purchasing a house to put at least 5% down of the purchase price of the house so they can insure the mortgage. It sucks! Believe me if I could do it with no money down, I would in a heartbeat! :p

I absolutely hated buying our house. Now we are refinancing, it hasn't been as bad YET. Good luck!!!

Good luck with the house Kelly! It was so stressful when we bought our house in TX. It's soooo worth it in the end, but that's when you can breathe again because it's all overwith! lol
Show us a pic whenever you find your new home...

Hey Kell good luck with the house. I'm sure it can start out as fun...looking at all the houses and stuff but I'm sure it turns annoying after you realize you HAVE to pick something and this is such a huge decision. I do wish I was in your place though...I so badly want my own house but I'm not anywhere near that right now :(
