Keeping other cats out of your yard

Any suggestions on keeping a neighborhood cat out of our yard?? There's a cat that likes to hang out on our front porch. He's a sweet kitty - I think he just wants to make friends, but he drives Mr. Peepers insane. Several weeks ago, Peepers got all tourqed up b/c of the outside kitty and bit dh. Now dh freaks when the other kitty comes around, becuase of how riled up Peepers gets.
Any ideas? It's causing a lot of anxiety in my house (and believe me, it's not just Peepers who is getting on edge).
