Does the thought of going out with someone freak everyone out as much as it does me, or am I just paranoid?

Being married, I can only tell you that it used to scare me.

I never dated when I was younger. I only dated 1 other guy before I strted dating my husband. I just never had the urge to go out on dates. If me & my friends wanted to go somewhere we all ended up going as a group so why bother w/a date.

No offense, but have you been in a convent or something?

May I ask why this has never come up before?

I didn’t date much at all, but I did date.

There weren't a lot of eligible guys when I was younger and besides that my dad and brothers have anger problems, so I guess I just don't trust men. I'm afraid that if I did find someone I'd forever be waiting for them to blow up at me.

I’m really sorry to hear that. I understand, but I promise they aren’t all like that! Most of us here have found really great guys!

Good luck to you!

Actually........I'm in a relationship and have been for the last year and 1/2 but when I was single (after divorcing...married for 8 years) I was terrified to date.
I went thru a wild spell. Um, love 'em and leave 'em phase if you know what I mean. I had NO desire to settle down and get saddled with another loser. I was emotionally abused in my marriage (and the ahole still torments me!)
I know if something happens w/ my relationship now I'll be scared again. Learing to trust another person is a hard thing to do. But nothing worth having comes free. Sometimes a broken heart is the price we must pay for experience and practice for the real thing.
