Do your inlaws pop in without notice?

No...and neither do my parents, or anyone else for that matter. I prefer if people give me some notice that they are coming over. I'm just not the type of person that enjoys having surprise visits.

Sometimes my mom/dad will pop in.......I HATE that! :argh: At least give me 10 minutes notice so the house won't be a wreck and I'll be fully dressed :D

I forgot to add.....Tommy doesn't live here but might as well. He's here every day + stays over when Darek isn't here but I would set some major ground rules after a few times if his parents dropped by w/ no warning.

DH parents did a few times when we first moved in togther. Don't know why but they started called after that and always do. I to don't like the dropping in without notice would like to be dressed and pick up a little.

They usually call first. But the have been known to stop by w/out calling if we've left a message about getting together on their machine. But they never just walk in & will go back home to call (6 blocks away) if we have both doors shut.

They were going to stop by one night a couple weeks ago. They drove by & saw the front door open & a bunch of people in our living room so they decided to just go home. That was the night we had my sisters & their family's over for some Na-car.

My MIL is famous for it. I think she just wants to be nosey! I hate it. I wish she would call first. She lives like 20 miles from us and most of the time has to make a special trip to see us, so I wish she would call first. I love when we're not home and she tries to come over (I know I shouldn't be so mean, but really if you knew her. . ).
Mostly people call when they come over and we do the same when we go somewhere.

My inlaws did once, they were on their way home from a funeral and got lost and they ended up in our town so they stopped by. all day DH had been trying to get ahold of them cause his car broke down and his dad is Mr. Fix-it so it worked out great.

Nope my mother in laws rule of thumb is that if she even thinks she may stop by she calls me at least 3 hours in advance and never leaves the living room unless I say its okay to go upstairs etc!! She knows her son

My mother on the other hand lives two streets from us and is over all the time. My sister is the one that really drives me crazy b/c she will go upstairs to catherine's room and make comments like...wow it looks like a tornado hit this room...and of course I shoot back...nope just a 6 year old with waaay too many toys and having a good time!

They used to---all the time. It's one of the reasons we moved 45 min away :biglaugh:

We have never lived close enough to my in-laws for them to drop by unannounced and my family would never do something like that.

No, we hardly ever have anyone pop in. Only time we have guests is when we celebrate something.

no neither of them do b/c we live so far out of the way from either Parents that they could just pop in.
