I have had my kitten, Skyla, since September. She is now about 10 months old. When I first got her, she started fighting with my other cat, Ivy. I thought Skyla would grow out of this over time and we have done everything we can to discourage the fighting. We've tried both negative reinforcement for fighting and positive reinforcement when Skyla is being good. Nothing seems to be working.
I'd hate to give Skyla up as both her and Ivy are part of our family, but all of the fighting must be making Ivy extremely unhappy. Does anyone have any ideas on how to deal with this?

Hmmm... I live with two cats (they are not mine-- but my roomate sister's) and they have a howlin' fur-tearin' fight about once a day, and they can both dish it for sure. They're brothers though, so I guess that's par for the course (my sis and I also have howlin fur-tearin' fights with the same frequency).
Are both cats 'fixed'?That might calm them a bit. And they might just grow out of it... especially if the youngster of the two is the instigator... or maybe there is a way to confine Skyla to one part of the home (easier said then done I am sure!)... anyway, good luck. This must be frustrating!

Have you talked to your vet at all and asked for any tips on managing Skyla's behavior so that the two cats can get along better? What about putting the same scent behind both of their necks? Sorry, I don't really have much advice, but I hope you can figure out a way to handle this.
