I got engaged on May 16, 2003 and I don't know where to start. Everyone keeps asking me what my colors will be but I don't have a clue. My favorite color is green but I don't want a green wedding and my FH's favorite color is Royal Blue and Burgandy. Any ideas out there.?

well i think you could go either way with it.. you could go the darker colors greens, navys,Burgandys stuff like that
or you go with the lighter colors of red, orange, yellow if you want to stay with a fall theme.
now if you dont want a fall theme, any color in the world would do :p
oh and by the way welcome to ht!!! i love talking about weddings

We are getting married in the fall and my girls are wearing burgundy....I also had liked a rust color but not all of them could wear it.
I myself would not choose pastels......maybe stick with the darker hughes for the fall, hunter green, navy........depends where you are gonna have your photos taken too.......you may blend in outdoors if you are wearing green depending on the background
That's just my opinion though....I love the darker colors for the fall.

A wine, burgundy, color would be really nice, so would a hunter green or royal blue, all the darker colors would be great, by my fave is the burgundy. I married last October, my bridesmaids wore a champagne/light goldish color, looked very sharp. ;)
Welcome to HT, can't wait to hear more details about your wedding plans! :run:

My hubby and I got married in May, but originally we had planned to marry in the fall. I had thought of going with jewel tones (emerald, sapphire, ruby), and had thought that the best material to give that rich dark look to the colors would be to go with dresses made of tafetta. But then I kind of thought I would like something different, so I thought I would go with a rich burnt pumpkin, taupe, champagne, gold and chocolate. I love the oranges and browns together. I think that would look fabulous in your wedding pics.

Hi and welcome, Tifferoo!
We got married in Oct 2001. During the planning, everyone kept asking me what my colors were... and I'd tell them "all of them". I didn't really have a color/theme, and you really don't have to. My bmaids wore silvery ice blue dresses, our flowers were purple & red (hydrangeas and roses) and the centerpieces were all different colored flowers (and amazing)! I wanted it to be a reflection of me and dh - some colors that I used weren't traditional autumn colors, but it definitely looked like 'our' wedding.

I thank all of you for your ideas. My future husband and I agreed on Burgundy and we both like flax or champagne so we are going to go with Burgandy and Flax. I will keep you guys posted on our progress.
