Not an overly big deal, but this just made me smile. The other night, Michael had a hockey game (he plays rec hockey on a team with our best friend Steve). When it's an early game, I usually go along with our best friend Shell (Steve's wife), to watch. We're usually the only two wives there, and if any others show up, we're the only ones yelling and cheering the guys on. Well, I had a lot of stuff to do (laundry and housecleaning), and so I asked him if he would mind if I didn't go to watch as planned. He said no, but right away, and from the tone of his voice, I could tell he was disappointed. Initially I was kind of annoyed because I was thinking, "Yah. You're p.o.'d because I'm not going because I'm staying home to do our laundry which won't get done if I don't do it." Anyhow, I ended up begrudgingly telling him I would go. Of course he said I didn't have to, and I said, "No, I'll go." Once again he said I didn't have to go, but then added, "It's just that I like when you're there watching me play. I like having you there....that's all." Well of course, sucker that I am, my heart just melted, and I couldn't be grumpy anymore. I went, and our girlfriend Jen came along too. The three of us had tons of fun, and I was telling Shell and Jen about Michael on the way home. Steve and Mike are very much alike, and we got talking about how if they're at work and we're home, they'll call a kizillion times a day, and just say, "Whatcha doin'?" Jen was in the back seat and she said, "You ladies shouldn't be making fun of your boys. I'm so jelous! I wish I had a guy that loved me that much!" Shell and I explained that we weren't poking fun, we just thought it was funny (in a cute way), how our "manly men" needed that constant contact with us. Sometimes they're just like grown up little boys.:inlove:
