Does anyone hire a housecleaner or do you and DH do the cleaning yourself?
We do everything ourselves.

I have someone come in once every three weeks to do the major dusting, mopping, bathroom scrubbing, vaccuming, etc. I do plenty of maintenance in between though.
same as deana here
too much deep cleaning began to cause resentment & that wasn't worth the $50 bucks we pay Jainaina to come once a month, yk?? Since he claims not to notice the dirtiness & it drives me nuts but i simply don't have the time to do it with the work i do
& Jainaina really wants the work.

We had a housekeeper for a year. It was great! But she moved out of the area, and we couldn't find another one that we trusted (little things kept disappearing) so we're back to doing it ourselves.
I'm in love with those Clorox Clean-up Wipes. I just keep a tube of them in all the bathrooms, kitchen and laundry room .... and I do a quick wipe down every weekend. It keeps things from getting too out-of-hand. Then we only do deep cleans when company is coming :D

We do everything except the ironing....my grandmother does that! She is retired and loves to iron while she watches soap operas, so once a week she comes and gets mine and my mom's laundry and does all the ironing!
I would love to have a housekeeper when we get a house. If nothing else, it would force me to keep the clutter picked up regularly. Right now I depend on having visitors to force me to clean. :D

Do it all myself!
Except like once every 2 or 3 months I have a fit that I am the only one cleaning so I kinda shut down, and then, and only then my son will pitch in and help.:D

J and I have never hired a housekeeper, perhaps that's why our house is never spotless. The downstairs always looks presentable, but come upstairs....forget it. It's so messy. It's not dirty (ok, well sometimes it is) but it's just so unorganized and in chaos. One of these days we'll straighten up and maybe when we have kids we can hire a housekeeper, even if it's just to come once a month for deep cleaning.

I have pondered on this idea for awhile now.......but my place is so messy that I would have to clean before a housekeeper could come in
Tommy would clean when he was here but before him and now it's all me baby!
