Wow thats really weird, the heat from the dryer alone should kill them.

But, it must have something to do with where it's vented!
Where does your venting go out to? It should be outside, if it is, spray some bug spray around the vent area outside the house...

I'll find out from the expert tonight what that could be though....

I know this may sound gross, but before we got married (we bought the house but didn't live there till we got married) we went by one day to do some painting and there were ants in the FREEZER! Most were dead, but a few were still slowly creeping around! I wanted to throw out the whole fridge and buy a new one!!

First, thank you for trying to find out.
It does go outside. I'll spray some there today. I thought the heat would kill them too, i don't know. My w/d are in the garage and i've seen ants on it a few times but never worried about it, cause it was in the garage, you know. But i went to take some clothes out of the dryer and when the last of them were out i saw them little things (ants) and i couldn't believe it. I didn't want to spray inside of the dryer cause i had clothes in the washer to dry and wasn't sure if it was safe to spray in there.

Try Borax! It works really well at killing ants (they take it back to their colony), is non-toxic to people and pets and it won't hurt clothes (I think it's actually sold as a non-bleach whitener/brightener). You can get it in the laundry soap part of the gocery store I think. I'd sprinkle some in the dryer when its not in use and vacuum it out when you need to use it.
