Nope, not pregnant... but now we'd have a great place to put a baby if we were!!! :D :D (us right now)

Just found out that everything for the contract/loan is approved & we just got our first HOME! Had to let my cyber-buds in on the news first! Thanks for the support of my previous "home" posts, your good vibes worked ;)

:elephant: YYYEEEAAAA!!!!! Thank you guys! We ARE really happy.. last night we were freaking out over the whole deal... then ecstatic, then freaking out... you know ;)

Yup... I'll post a few pics this afternoon later.

Mel, it's in that Sherwood Forest neighborhood that I was talking about a while ago... close to the bay so I can take Janis to the little park & also go running... & about a seven minute drive to the beach... my goal is to get to the beach via bike soon.

Jman, thanks for the wine, how thoughtful ;) I'll post dinner later :D

Leah, thank you, its good to have friends get excited with us

Kara - I KNOW!!! When trying to figure out the least misleading way to post this home news for a babylusting crowd, this is the best one I could think of... I knew a few people would still think "PG" though ;) gotta LOVE us otl/ttc-ers!!!

pics coming soon... sharing this news has been as fun, if not more, than finding out for ourselves :D

The least misleading way would have been a subject line along the lines of "We got our house!" :biglaugh: Sorry, I had to! :p

TRUE... BUT, where's the surprise factor in that???! ;) Had to have a LITTLE fun right?

Oz busted me saving a few pics for the web & told me that "who knows who would be looking at them & some psycho killer could trace our address"... so now I'm paranoid!!! I'm cropping some pics though... couldn't NOT share this thing I've been talking about forever with you guys :biglaugh: If they pass the "Oz's web pic test" I'll post them tonight...

Here are some tidbits though... The house was built in 1952 & the designer/architect lived in it for it's first 40 years, then sold it to another for less than a year, then sold it to the elderly ladies who've lived there for the past 10 1/2 yrs... its in amazing condition. All hardwood flooring throughout, awesome built-ins, working fireplace, a wood deck & an old brick outdoor bbq area with a mosaic stone table... we have huge plans for the bbq area. The garage will be the sound studio eventually, thats a big project, lots of windows & the lot it's on has 9 historically protected oak trees (kinda worried about killing them) & a bazillion ferns & bromeliads. The neighborhood its in is a protected bird sanctuary & a half block away is an Indian memorial mound with many kinds of plants, trees & a lot of small animals, very peaceful. It is a memory mound for the Tequesta's who used to inhabit that area... Its what we need, I'm such a nature person & O needs alot of space.

Anyway, don't want to bore you b'c I could go on ALL day :D more later

Thanks for your nice replies & congrats, this is fun news to share

Sounds alot like my parents house. Houses were well built then! Their house has hardwood throughout and pine walls and ceilings. It is so quiet inside! I guess all that wood muffles outside noise!

Sounds beautiful! Hope Oz clears the pics for the web!

Wow, it sounds amazing!! You know, Oz sounds a bit paranoid, kinda like my DH gets. I was snapping pics of downstairs with our digital cam the other day and he asked me what I was taking them for. LOL! He gets a little weirded out by posting pics on the web too. :p

Sounds amazing Veda!!! Great neighborhood too! ;)

Hey Oz is like T, he gets paranoid too. Crop away, make them safe and then post them. :D

So... finally :biglaugh: Meliz... not to worry, I'm a HUGE procrastinator too!

When we drive by today, I'm going to get a few better pics of the trees & the Indian mound... but here are these for now :D

This is the living room... off the side of it is the florida room (the one with the door that leads to outside) Then a pic of the deck & bbq area which we have renov plans for... also one of this mosaic table & some tree area. I didn't get many good ones b'c the ladies are still living there... these are from our first walkthrough. Its funny to look at tham & know now that its our house but when these were taken, we had no idea that everything would work out! :D

These ladies have sooo much stuff in that house, it's kind of hard to see whats going on in there. Thats project #1... PAINTING! Since everyone is big into the DECO & pastel colors... we're thinking of going with a nice WHITE... what do you guys think?? Notice the brick fireplace? We love that part... even here we could get a few good uses per year out of it.

veda
09-20-2003, 01:02 PM
another... how do I just get these all on one post & also to just show up w/o having to click a link?? just curious...

here's one of the bedrooms... they all look similar & there are three of them so I'll just post this one

You see where my plant problems lie?! Sooo many bromeliads & ferns... I'm having dreams about them already. Anyone ever safely transplant either of them? Mel... that link you sent me(bromeliad society) is very good, alot of info... any fern solutions? Anyone ever had a major transplanting project? How'd it go for you??

Wow ... I love the pics so far. That is such a great house (hidden underneath all that clutter) :D I love the cut of the doorway from the living room to the dining room. Much more interesting than a square or an arch ... and I've always wanted built-in shelves like that!! You'll have your very own library!

The yard seems so big and foresty. And those trees are breath-taking! They look like they've been around since the beginning of time!

Congrats again V ... that place looks wonderful :elephant:

Thanks M! :) We have already made some plans for the yardspace & inside. It IS nice to have this new palette... & it has such a peaceful feeling in there. If we can just contain the plants slightly things will be a-okay ;)

Holy bromeliads batman!! Now I see your problem!! Wow! I would really try and give some of those places a call, skeeters and snakes love bromelaids.

I love your house, Margs is right, lots of character. I am so happy for you!! I can't wait to see what you do with the place! :run:
