does anyone know which breed stays better small i dont want a huge one that i couldnt carry around ...
I used to have red-eared sliders. They can get to be a good size (my oldest was between salad and dinner-plate sized...lol!), but not so huge you couldn't pick them up and move them. My grandmother has/had red-eared sliders and box turtles, I think.

thanks girl.... i was looking into getting a box turtle... but i dont want one as big as a dinner plate lol.. my sister had a turtle full grown and it wasnt that large...
so i guess i got to do a little more research before i go out to buy one
I guess when I think about it again (and actually LOOK at a dinner plate...lol), it was really closer to the size of a salad plate.
Turtles are pretty cool, just make sure you wash your hands really well after handling them/their cage, because they're often carriers of salmonella.

Is that the one that stays in water and on land?
