View Full Version : Wrapping viney plants - tips needed
So today we're gardening again & want to wrap some of the large viney plants that are now either on the ground or attached to the sides of the house, around the trees in the yard... anyone have tips for this? I've heard to tap some finishing nails into the tree for the vines to use as a support & to water their roots (& the tree) after wrapping them, any other tips?? thanks ;)
we just wrapped a few & i'll let you all know how they go... since i see soooo many people are into this topic, haha :D

I would avoid tapping nails into the trees, who knows what kind of damage it will do to the tree.
You could wrap some plastic garden mesh around the tree for the vines to cling to. It looks like chicken wire but is plastic and will blend in with the colour of the tree and you won't damage your tree.
At Home Depot in the fencing area, 2' x 25" for like $13.00.
Good luck
