Some friends bought me a jacket while they were in Mexico and it has a blue stain on it. I suspect the stain is from a pen or marker but I can’t be sure. I don’t know what type of material the jacket is made of either so that doesn’t help. There is no tag on it that says. The washing instructions are in Spanish but I think I got them translated pretty much correctly. I think they say to wash in a machine with tepid water, not to use laundry detergent or bleach, hang dry, and something about ironing on tepid. So from all that, can someone give me advice on how to remove the stain? Oh, and my mom tried to get the stain out with laundry detergent and it came out a little but she got the stain on another part of the jacket, so now there are two stains on it.

I am probably of no help but I know hairspray works wonders on ink/marker stains.
I had put on a lab jacket that belonged to someone else at work. Of course I got marker on it somehow
I done everything but cut the stain out (I even had it dry cleaned)......I took it back and apologized offering to buy her a new one. She took it home, used oxy-clean, and the ^%$# :vent: stain came out! Maybe you could try that also.

Also, when you are trying to get the stain out, make sure you put a think towel or something under the fabric. It'll soak up the liquid and the stain (as I'm sure you know now ;) ). I like to use old socks because noone is going to see a stain on the bottom of my sock! :D
