So first what are you getting your inlaws for christmas this year?

Where are you going to have christmas this year? At their house or your house?

We got MIL a watch and FIL two really nice dress shirts.

We live in different states, so they are flying here on Dec 30 and will stay with us until Jan 3. We will spend Christmas day with my dad and stepmom (they live here)

We got MIL a magazine subscription and we'll have a fresh floral centerpiece delivered to her on Christmas Eve ... and we pitched in with the others to get FIL an exercise bike. They're lucky they got anything from us at all ... they've been naughty this year!

Fortunately we don't have to see them at all. We'll have Christmas at our house and then go see my family the weekend after :D

Sorry Loveshack, you've opened the door for a brief rant with question number one, but I'll start with question number two.

We are spending X-Mas Eve and X-Mas day at our place with my dad, who lives in the same complex as us.

We gave my in-laws their X-Mas present at Thanksgiving- $200 for their 35th wedding anniversary cruise. Now for the past 6 months they have flat out told people to contribute to this fund when there has been a gift giving occassion, which I felt was very tacky. DH disagreed and wrote them a check, but were they happy when they opened envelope? Of course not, they berrated us for giving them "too much" and implied that we were being careless with our money (not true)! We couldn't believe how ungrateful they were and their comments about our finances were just insulting, especially for DH who used to be an accountant. Neither of them thanked us and to this day they have not cashed the check.

We are giving my FMIL a photo album with all of the pictures from our Thanksgiving vacation in NYC. I don't know what DF got his dad, we had a deal, I get a gift for his mom and he gets one for his dad.

We will be sending half of Christmas Eve and half of Christmas Day with his parents and half of Christmas Even and half of Christmas Day with my parents. Let the FUN Begin!

We are getting the in-laws nothing for Christmas because we are spending quite a bit on their 50th wedding anniversary celebration which is the 27th. They insisted that we not get them anything for Christmas. And we're taking them up on it! lol!

And we'll spend Christmas exchanging gifts with Carl's brothers at my inlaw's house.
