Going to the Vet

How often do you take your pets to the vet? I don't take mine in for a regular check-up, I just take her in when I think she is sick or if something else is wrong with her. Ofcourse when I first got her, I took her in for all her exams and shots.

They say you're supposed to get shots for cats anually. I've tried to keep up with this, but for some reason I always forget. Both kitties are up-to-date right now, though. Otherwise, I only take them in when they're sick. My kitten has a cold and I have to give her medicine - she hates it! It's heartbreaking. :(

It is illeagal in Michigan to not get a rabies shot annually, so we take our cats in every year to get their shots. I also had a cat, who was strictly indoor, die of feline leukemia after having tested negative for it at 1 year. So I know how important vaccines are, no matter where the cat lives.

Cinder didn't weigh enough yet at her appt. last wednesday to get her first shots, so we are going to try again in 3 weeks

So far we have taken Harry in for his monthly shots 8weeks, 12w, 16w, and we have to take him at 13 months we also got him neutered at 6 months and we go once a month to have him weighed

I basically do the same as everyone else, Prince has been to the vet and had all his shots, but I dont usually take him to the vet unless he is sick.
As a matter of fact I think I am going to call the vet tomorrow, Prince has had diareah for 3 days now. :(

well the new kitten and our puppy came with there first shots i had to take her to get her rabbies shot and that is all they had so far...

but the two older cats dont get shots it seems like they get sick from them

I take mine in yearly unless something is wrong. When they are puppies they need to go in more frequently but not the kitties. :dog: :cat:

all 6 of my dogs (GAGE TASHA SIENA GEORGE RUDIE & LACEY
have all had their puupy shots and go yearly for check ups
all my dogs have been neutered or spayed... exept my 2 shih tzus

i make sure they have heart worm preventive...

I thought I already answered this one but guess I was wrong.

Anywho, Winston goes to the vet yearly for a check-up. HE has gotten his shots yearly as well but my vet informed us this year that since he is getting older he'll only need his shots every 2-3 years from hear on out. I plan to continue taking him for a yearly check-up anyways. Especially now that he's starting to show signs of age (arthritis in one hip).
