Hi. I stumbled across this website-so glad I did! Me and my fiance are dying to get out of apartments and either build a home, buy a home or even buy a manufactured home. I love the idea of building a home but I was wondering....We both have slow/little credit, how hard is it to get a loan to build a home opposed to just buying a home that is already built? or is there a difference? Does anyone suggest a lender that deals with people with slow/little credit?
If anyone could help I'd really appreciate it!

:D

It dosen't matter whether you are getting a resale or a new home as far as financing. Slow or little credit shouldn't stop you from getting a loan. I would say where there is a will there is a way. If you have a higher down payment or someone who can co-sign those are factors the lender will consider. Your first step is to talk to a lender. Preferable someone that is a known quantity like a referral from a friend or the bank where you already have a relationship. They will be able to view your credit history and let you know right away where you stand and if you do need to repair some things on your credit they can assist you in doing so. The sooner you start working towards it the closer you are to getting a home and now is a wonderful time with int. rates so low. Good luck.
