I did a clean sweep of my house

Has anyone ever seen the show Clean Sweep on TLC? It is awesome. It inspired me to do that to my house.
Let me start by saying, my house is NOT cluttered. Especially like the homeowners on the show.
In these two weeks that I have been off, DH and I did every room in our house. I cannot believe the stuff we got rid of. We found two truck loads of garbage and a bunch of stuff to give to goodwill. All my closets have so much room now. My linen closet now has 3 empty shelves!!!
It feels so good to have gotten rid of stuff we never use anymore. :D

I LOVE that show! Although, if I were those people, I would be embarrassed for the whole world to see my junk, especially when there is so much of it!! Like you, they would be stretching it to get one blanket of stuff from my house! We kinda did that when we moved into the new house....as far as clothes -- if we hadn't worn it in one year, chances are we weren't going to wear it again so we got rid of it. Also got rid of little trinket things that people had given us or we had saved for some reason (ticket stubs, mardi gras beads, decorative figurines, etc). I like the tips they give like "Just because someone gave you something, doesn't mean you have to keep it....you can give it to someone else who can actually use it." and "Don't save items because they remind you of something....it is the memory that is important...not the item itself." I have used that philosophy alot!

I love that show! Some people are such pack rats! I just don't keep alot of things I guess. I don't like clutter. I have been on my boyfriend b/c he has magazines that are 4 yrs old still! He isnt ever going to read them again!!

I am addicted to that show...do you think they bring in more stuff from other rooms to make it look cluttered or is that really their mess. Some of the clothes are strung all over the place and half hung up. They all seem to do that:lol:
I like watching the decorating part to,it gives me ideas for my house.
