What's everyone doing for Valentine's Day?
For the past few years we've had some really romantic and wonderful nights at home for V-day so I don't see why this year should be any different. ;) Maybe we'll go out for brunch in the morning. That's my favorite meal.

I'll probably cook something for T, slap on one of my costumes and get buck wild :D

Nothing :(
Hubby is scheduled to be out of town for work. No big deal though, he is about as un-romantic as they come. He doesn't even pick up on hints. I buy myself flowers, LOL.
And don't get the wrong idea - I love him the way he is :D

hmm, that is one I've never heard of.....sweetest day?? :gag:
Personally, I'm so not into the whole commercialism of Vday at all. That's why DH and I stay home....and I also don't think that hearts, flowers and chocolate is necessarily romantic. I think everyone has their own idea of what romance is. ;)

First off, chocolates ARE in fact necessary.:) (I take 'em when I can justify 'em).
We're actually going out of town for the w/e... to a nearby francophone city (about 1.5 hours away). Juste moi, et ma petite chou! Oh la la.:) Actually, that's a lie. Sis and her fiance are meeting us there... so we're gonna stay at a hotel, shop (we're both looking for shoes for her wedding), go to a fab new Indian restaurant (so say the reviews we've heard) and maybe see a flick. Just a basic change of scenery, which we try to do every dreary Feb (last year was skiing)... this year it happened to coincide with the 14th so it's kinda nice.

Since T already took me to my favorite restaraunt this week, we'll be having dinner out at the place we married! :inlove:

We will stay in and cook something wonderful together. Then maybe watch a movie? Boring, but it's what we enjoy.
I don't like to go out for V-day, the restaurants jack up the prices on everything, and it's so crowded. I'd rather be at home w/my hunny.

We usually stay home also (avoiding the crowds). We'll probably order pizza. Thats if Robert isn't working since he starts on afternoons today.

My husband made reservations at a fancy Italian restaurant so we can get all dressed up.

During America's Great Depression, a man from Cleveland organized many people in an effort to provide a small token of friendship to the underprivileged, shut ins, orphans, and homeless. Today the holiday has expanded to include small tokens of appreciation to friends and neighbors too. These tokens of appreciation can be small gifts or small acts of kindness. This event is repeated on the third Saturday in October.
Dh and I were married on Sweetest Day. Not for any particular reason, but I figured I needed to know what the day was created for. :)
No plans for Valentine's Day. I will most likely be back to work then anyway.

Personally, I think that our anniversary is much more important to us than Valentines Day. We would rather go all out on a day that means something to us rather than a commercialized holiday. Theres nothing wrong with having an excuse to eat a nice meal and spend time together but we don't get in to it like some people do. We choose not to exchange gifts just to spend quality time together. I think we are going to go on a little day trip, have a nice meal and come home and cuddle.:kiss2:

I have NO idea! He usually never does anything for me, but this year he apparently has something up his sleeve.
So far, he's told me not to get the mail for a couple of days, then when I say that I'd rather he not spend any $$$ for V-day, he says he's not, but he is "putting something together" for me...
I have no clue whatsoever... but I love this kind of stuff!!! :D

I told Robert that if he has to work me & Roni will meet him for dinner, since he'd have to go out for it anyways. We'll probably end up at the little coney island near his plant.

Do I HAVE to be married to post here? Hehe. I'm engaged...is that close enough? I've never heard of Sweetest Day neither. Learn something new everyday I suppose. I have no idea what Andrew and I are doing yet. We have plans to go to the beach but it will probably be stormy with tornado's! That seems to be the Texas way. :D
Hope everyone has a great day though even if you don't like all the mushy love stuff!:)

LOL, no you don't have to be married to post here. Congratulations on your engagement. :) When are you getting married?? There's a section on here called "Wedding Talkers Refugees" if you feel like talking weddings. ;) There's a few other brides-to-be around and a lot of the girls on here are recently married. Have fun!!

Around a year or so. I don't want to make a date untill I have most of the plans thought up. I'm obsessively organized and if I make a date and then can't have the place or just whatever that I have my mind set on, i'll be upset..lol. Sooo...we are taking the planning slow so we can have everything we truly desire. Thanks for the congratulations!:)

Lisa, we were married on Sweetest Day, too! It was 2002 and then a year and 3 days later we had our little boy. I think it's nice that there's a day set aside just for being nice to others. We should be that way all the time, but it seems like our society needs a reminder. :)

I have no idea what Ryan has planned. Someone called today, but he wouldn't tell me what it was about so I know he has some surprise in store.

We exchanged gifts last night... He gave me a huge booklet of "love and pampering" coupons (which includes things like full body massages, a night of romance, and even pedicures that he's going to do himself ;) ). I also received two tickets (one for me, one for him) to 'Phantom of the Opera' next Friday night... our first night ever away from the babies (which doesn't completely thrill me, but I'm excited about seeing the show). I also get to choose whatever restaurant we go to beforehand. Any great suggestions, Austin girls???
My gifts to him pale in comparison!!! I just got him a couple of CDs and some chocolate. :o

ok so hubby asked me 2 weeks ago "do you want a lil something on valentines day or you want something major the week after"
duh i picked the major thing!!!
so anyway on Valentines day i wasn't expecting anything but he shows up w/ a box of chocolates and a dozen long stemmed roses. VERY SUPRISED
but now LAST NITE was super COOL!!
he rented a jacuzzi suite at a local hotel . sis in law watch the baby and my boy was at his dad's this weekend. so he tells me to dress up and takes me to a local seefood resturaunt (NEVER going back there!!! ahhaha) but then he takes me back to the hotel and escorts me in and i find candles and rose petals EVERYWHERE! oh and dark chocolate kisses!! MMMMMM... anyway the rose petals are on the bed and in and around the jaccuzzi. i see a card i read it and at the end it says that there is a bear running around somewhere w/ something that belongs to me.. so i go on a mini "scavenger" hunt and i find the bear next to a bag of nestle treasures.. i thought oh how sweet more chocolate.. then i pic up the bear and there is JEWELRY on it!! white gold blue topaz ring, necklace and earrings!!! well anyway he "romances" me in the hot tub we sip on champagne and listend to looooooove songs. then he "romances" me on the bed then i think this is it right?? he brings out more champagne and a fruit tray and feed me!!! the nite was just WONDERFUL!! he held me and gave me the "eyes all nite...

Well I told my hubby that I would treat him for a change this V-day. So I did!
I told him that I was gonna take a half day from work and come home and cook. but what I really did was.......
The night before when he went out to his parents house I made a double layer heart shaped cake and heart shaped cookies.
The next day I got up like I normaly would for work and went down stairs and made heart shaped french toast.
I had gotten a breakfast tray earlier that week. So on the tray I had a plate of french toast, Big glass of Choc milk and a small glass of Apple Juice, Syurp in a glass jar, Powderd sugar in the saker and a rose bud. Then told him that I would be home for the hole day. So we decided to go to an afternoon movie not before some nookie though. :sex::clap:
When we got back I started dinner. (Surf and Turf his favorit) I got a salad together and set the table with candles and I even went out and got the butter warmers! He was so full that he didn't eat the potato or vegie. Then I got him his favorit Ice cream with cake and we sat and laid on the couch and enjoyed eachothers company. It was so nice and He got me a dozen roses, balloons, and a sweet card. Our first V-day as a married couple was so perfect. I'm so glad that he enjoyed the day. Now next year hopefully he will make it special for me b/c I hope to be prego by then. :1preggo:
