We have decided to handle gifts differently this year. Within our little family, we have decided to set a theme for each year to celebrate birthdays and holidays and Christmas for the boys and us.
This year, we have decided on “music” as the theme, so we went to a concert for my birthday, which was last week. Hubby’s B-day is in almost 2 weeks, so I have to come up with a gift or idea for him that relates to music.
The same idea applies for the boys’ birthdays and Christmas (which cuts down on overspending or buying too many gifts – and really makes you think hard and use the old imagination.)
Gift giving has become so mundane over the years, so we’re going to try this to see if it adds a little more fun.
I try to be pretty creative, so I won’t be so literal with my interpretations of the theme. When I decide what I want to do for his b-day, I’ll post it.
