What do you use to dust your house?

I use Pledge and a rag (like an old cut-up t-shirt) but it seems like the dust just floats into the air, and it's just as dusty the next day. I've heard that cloth diapers work pretty well for dusting.

Any suggestions?

I've found that the thicker the cloth the better. I use Pledge and an old sweatshirt for wood surfaces and slightly damp old wash cloth for everything else. If it's just light dusting then I use a Swiffer cloth.

I use an ostrich feather duster that I bought at Smart and Final. It works very well and is very easy to use and quick!

I use something like the "swifter duster" that farmgirl posted about. I can not remember what it's called but it's red. I found it at wal-mart in the autocare section.
I use pledge, orange oil, and/or murphy's oil soap for polishing. I don't polish every time I dust. When I do polish I use cloth diapers. They are great for polishing. They don't leave fuzzies and the dust clings right to them.

I use two washcloths. One is damp and the other dry... wipe with the damp one to pick up the dust and then dry the surface with the dry one. I use this method on everything. It lasts about a week but you could go two weeks before the dust is really bad again. I never liked Pledge... it always seemed to leave the surface kind of sticky which only attracted more dust. I also like those microfiber dust cloths if you're looking for something really simple though for me they don't seem to get all the dust.

I use these too. Altho, if you have a thick layer of dust ( like I often do) it can get away from you - but if you stick with once per week it works nicely and MUCH faster!

Is there a big difference between the swiffer duster and just using a swiffer cloth?

Thanks for the tips girls! I have a question about the dusters though. Do they work on all the knick-knacks and stuff? I just doesn't seem like they would get all of that stuff very well....

C, I think the swiffer duster has little hangy down strips instead of just being flat.

yeah, the swiffer duster has more hangy things to gather dust, etc. So I think it'd be a little better - but not sure b/c I haven't tried the swiffer cloths.

Joni - they dusters are good for knick knacks, grooves, and little nooks etc. I dust everything with mine and think they work pretty good.

I haven't tried the Swiffer Dusters yet. They sound like they will work. I use the Swiffer Wet jet mop thingy and I like that. No mop bucket to clean up after. I mix my own floor cleaner in the bottle. I like lemon scented cleaners.

When it comes to dusting i will most honestly agree that cloth diapers make for the best dusting rags going! I have always recycled old, worn out cloth diapers into "dusters".
