I was wondering if anyone else had any gardening mistake stories to share. I'll share mine and we can all make fun of me, okay?

Let me start by saying that I am a true beginner at gardening! I thought that I could go to a nursery and they could tell me what I should do. But somehow I got it in my head that I wanted hydrangeas in front of my deck. Well, we went to one nursery and found some, but we decided to check around for the best price. Okay, keep in mind this happened LAST WEEKEND. So we go to the second place, and we see this bush that has flowers that remind me of hydrangeas and I fall in love with it. I didn't know what it was, just that I liked it. So we got 3 of these. Well, the owner of the place knew we were beginners, because she was helping us and she asked if we had any questions, but she never gave us any info on what this was. WELL, we got home and planted 2 of them side by side in front of the deck and one on the side of the front porch. Later that night, I got on the internet with the name of the flower so I could see what it looked like and if it needed any special care. So the name of this bush is viburnum macrocephalum AKA a Chinese snowball! This is what it looks like now:

And this is what it looks like when it's grown

Keep in mind we planted 2 of these together. Apparently, they grow to be 15-20 ft tall!!

I am the world's biggest gardening idiot! :D :o

Oh, Ok, well I kinda did the same thing but with bulbs. I had never planted bulbs before and I have a small flower bed in front of my house, (remember I said small). So anyway, I go to Home Depot one day with my daughter and we spot this bulb, its a very pretty pink & white flower, and I fell in love with it, so did my daughter. But I would not have bought the damn thing if not for her. She kept saying, oh come on ma, just give it a try, its only $9.99, I said  . Then we walked by it again, and she says you know u love it ma, just buy it. I say  one more time. Then, I look at the sign above and to my surprise ;) , it's really only $5.99. So what the heck, I figure I'll give it a shot.
We planted it. and I was very excited to see what it would look like.
Well it sprouted, and sprouted, and sprouted and never stoped growing:eek: . My daughter said, Ma, what the heck is that? , of course you know I wanna chock her now. Its a big big big bush of pink & white huge flowers that takes up the whole bed. Very pretty but so dont belong where it was.
We have dug up the bulbs and put them elswhere, (thankGoodness)...
Although I didnt think it was funny at the time, today, I can laugh at it.

I have no clue what that bush is. All I do know is the flowers are beautiful, but BIG. Way to big for that small bed out front.
My dog wouldnt even go near the darn thing LOL. It towered over me:eek: . It was a sight.;)
