I was wondering if anyone else had any gardening mistake stories to share. I'll share mine and we can all make fun of me, okay?
Let me start by saying that I am a true beginner at gardening! I thought that I could go to a nursery and they could tell me what I should do. But somehow I got it in my head that I wanted hydrangeas in front of my deck. Well, we went to one nursery and found some, but we decided to check around for the best price. Okay, keep in mind this happened LAST WEEKEND. So we go to the second place, and we see this bush that has flowers that remind me of hydrangeas and I fall in love with it. I didn't know what it was, just that I liked it. So we got 3 of these. Well, the owner of the place knew we were beginners, because she was helping us and she asked if we had any questions, but she never gave us any info on what this was. WELL, we got home and planted 2 of them side by side in front of the deck and one on the side of the front porch. Later that night, I got on the internet with the name of the flower so I could see what it looked like and if it needed any special care. So the name of this bush is viburnum macrocephalum AKA a Chinese snowball! This is what it looks like now:

And this is what it looks like when it's grown

Keep in mind we planted 2 of these together. Apparently, they grow to be 15-20 ft tall!!
I am the world's biggest gardening idiot! :D :o
