Even tho I have only been able to eat for 3days now I'm so sick of soups and mashed potatoes. I canNOT do meats, they get stuck :gag: and/or breads + anything hard and scratchy. Has anyone had trouble w/ their throat before and could give me some food ideas. I'm starvin'!! Jello and pudding only lasts so long

Aww, I'm sorry you're having a tough time with your food! What about casseroles or pasta dishes with pasta and veggies cooked into mush?

How about egg pastini? Its a small shaped pasta, my mom used to cook it up with lots of butter, salt and pepper. Scrambled eggs, cottage cheese with some sugar and cinnamon, pudding, jello, mashed bananas, cream of wheat, pancakes or french toast cut up in tiny pieces, protein shakes, milk shakes, ice cream, hey some people like the taste of baby food? I know that last one was a stretch. ;)

Oh well, M already gave you my idea. Yummy, I love pastina, and its so easy to swallow, and filling. Like M's mom mine used to put eggs, cottage cheese or even once mashed potato's, (I didnt like the mashed potato one).
But that is what you should try to eat Krysti.

;) Feel better chick. ;)

:lick: Thanks girls. I never even thought about 1/2 the stuff mentioned! I'm here whinning over the grilled burgers and steak I can't eat when there's a ton of other things I can eat.
I'm sending T out for some oatmeal, bananas, strawberries, and some pastini ( I have never heard of it but LOVE pasta).
Smoothies sound great :lick: I could make some of them and get some yogurt also :thumb2:
Thanks gals!

Jana.........greenbeans, zucchini and squash all mashed up sounds great. Gotta add that to my list.

M.......hehe. I thought about baby food then thought :gag: but after reading your post I remembered there are some killer desserts that I would buy double when Darek was a baby. One for him and one for me :D

Hi HeavenLeigh, I am confused and have only read the responses to your note here on the one page, why is it you can't swallow? Have you seen a Dr.? This is not sounding too good, will try and help when I understand a bit more, maybe you just have a sore throat from a cold?? Hope that is all it is. Sylvia

Hi Sylvia. I had surgery last week on my neck. I have a big lump swollen on the left side that causes me to get choked and makes it hard for food to go down. With the surgery that I had it usually takes about a month for the lump to go completely away. I tried to eat a doughnut tonight (big mistake) I thought I was going to kill my fool self :D

Oh HeavenLeigh, I wish I had some ideas for you, but my only one that I can suggest has been suggested, good old smoothies with protien powder in the fruit and yogurt....they are the best and with the powder they are really healthy and you need to keep your strength up. I would go to the health food store or market and get a can on either powder or a canned high protien drink that you can mix i the blender with a bag of frozen fruit..Hope you are doing better, but better lay off of donuts...baby food would help too and could add other things to that in a blender.. you could put real meat in a blender too or other veggies and just blend them all up. My mother in law did that at everymeal after her throat cancer ordeal....just would blend everything that the housekeeper made for dinner she would throw it all into a blender....said it was really tasty...did not look to good, but she thought it was great. Good luck to you and keep us all posted. Sylvia
