Canned Asparagus Recipes?

I bought a jar of what I THOUGHT were pickled asparagus spears. I opened them up and found non-pickled asparagus that turns to mush when you try to take it out of the jar. :gag: Anybody have any good asparagus dip recipes? Soup? Something?

Off the top of my head, I was just thinking about mixing them up in a pasta sauce. I love any kind of veggie in mine so it might be good. Also, I had an asparagus risotto once that was delish.

Asparagus sandwiches! The church-lady special! heh heh. You take white bread, butter it:), spread cream cheese, softened, and mixed with a dab of mayo on the bread, and then you role each stock of asparagus up in the bread like a pinwheel. Not sure who came up with this, but ya can't go to a church tea that doesn't have these... although we make fun of them, there's no denying that they are tastey.:)
