Anyone notice that beef prices have really been on the rise? Or is it just me....
for example: my wife really loves Lloyds ribs and we used to get them at BJ's for $9 ~ haven't seen them for weeks... Yesterday the grocery store had them for $17 a rack!
Or ribe eye at $10.99 a pound or t-bone at $8.99
What are the prices like in your area?

Red meat is faily cheap here nowadays, thanks to mad cow and the embargo against Canadian meat... certainly under $5/lb for a decent cut (not sure exactly what that is, cos hub buys/eats the red meat in the house). Chicken, however, is extremely expensive... it was "on sale" for $6/lb the other day (boneless, skinless breasts that is). It's much cheaper "across the lines" in the States, I think? Canadians now flock (pardon the pun) to the states for their poultry especiallt at Xmas and thanksgiving when turkeys are about 1/3 of what they are here, even with the exchange rate.

I wonder if US is exporting more red meat?
Yesterday, I bought on the bone pork chops for $2.50 a pound, and boneless chicken breasts for $4 a pound. Go figure!
