View Full Version : Turkey Meatballs and Cabbage

I made this last night and it was a big hit so I wanted to share!

Meatballs:
4 lbs ground turkey
1 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 cup water
3 eggs
1 chopped onion
salt and pepper
(I added garlic too)

Sauce:
1 14 oz. Hunt's Ketchup
1 16 oz. bottle of Vernor's ginger ale
1 14 oz. can stewed tomatoes

1 head of cabbage (or you can buy the pre-shredded kind in a bag like I did)

Use big roasting pan, spray with noncook spray (PAM)
Layer like a lasange --
Layer bottom with shredded cabbage
Then place meatballs
Then sauce
More cabbage
meatballs
sauce (on top)

Turn oven to 350 degrees
Cover with foil and cook for 1.5-2 hours
Uncover and cook for 1 hour

Delish! Serve with mashed potatoes

I didn't realize what a huge portion that was. I am making this tonight and pretty much quartered it. Hopefully it will come out well. I'm serving it with mashed potatoes, corn on the cob and broccoli.
