I seen on HGTV *I LOVE that station* how to make stepping stones. You can take a plastic container, pizza box, or whatever you like for the shape.....fill it w/ quick drying cement and then place broken tiles in designs or just anywhere for the mosaic *I know I spelled that wrong* look. After it dries you just pop it right out of the container. Very neat. I thought about using creek pebbles and making some to go around my sidewalk.

Sounds like something I could try w/Roni & Nicholas this summer (on a non-racing weekend of coarse). I like stepping stones & have wanted to do a path from the garage to the pond but Rob doesn't want to move them to mow (I don't really want to imbed them in the grass in case we decide to move sooner than expected).

Did you guys do this? I was going to tell you that I've even seen kits at craft stores and WalMart around here - but it is really easy to do yourself! Let me know how you did if any of you tried it!

Have you made any? have pics to post? what did you put in them for a design?

I haven't personally, but there are people around here that make them in order to make extra money. Lots of them imbed stones, tile or glass in them for designs. I would use that type more for "looks" than for walking on - but they're really beautiful - and seems like the people weren't charging that much for them either.
They'd have little butterflies, flowers, abstract designs - just all sorts of stuff. They're really big around mother's day!
I haven't been to look this year, but I was thinking if they still had those kits - it might be worth looking into. Let me know if you try it later in the spring/summer. Goodness knows I've got enough in the yard to keep me busy without getting too creative - but sometimes I can't help but dream!
