I plan on painting my small hallway a dark brown (kinda milk chocolatey) color. I don't want it to look drab and have seen some good results (on tv) with glaze. Has anyone mixed paint and glaze to get that glossy look? How did it turn out?

my mom and I have done that...you just have to make sure you get the right proportions. Sounds like it will be really pretty. :)

Thanks C :D From what I gather it's 4parts glaze to 1 part paint. Is that how you did it?

I'm pretty sure that's how we did it.

I rummaged around the paint section for an hour yesterday and found some gold tinted glaze. Since my LR has gold accents (as does the wall hangings in the hall) I got it. For best results you lightly brush this over the dried paint. I can't wait to try it!

That sounds like what I want for my living room. We are painting it a medium milk chocolate brown and I thought a faux finish would look nice too for something different. My hallway needs something extra so maybe I'll try this technique. When are you painting?

Sometime this week. I dread it like the plague too. I don't mind painting, just all the furniture moving involved in it. I'll be off the net for a few days when I do. I'll have to move my desk and won't put it back until I get my carpet installed this coming Sat.
